The term indicates the procedure by which a potential buyer assesses in advance the economic conditions of the business he/she intends to acquire, as well as any potential risk associated with the acquisition. It is a set of activities organised to collect and verify the information on the assets, finances, economic conditions, fiscal state, management and environmental aspects of the company being acquired.
